Byrd finishes up "best offseason"

Douglas Byrd underachieved last year — their head coach is the first to admit it. No use trying to spread frosting on last year's 9-5 finish. Getting thumped, 41-12, in the third round of the 3-A playoffs spoke for itself. So this offseason, players did something about it. Over the past five months, Byrd's Russell Stone saw a new, more dedicated team hatch.
