ELIZABETHTOWN - Jaylan Herring's 10-yard run put the Eagles on top, and then Rasheem Keith intercepted a pass by Eastern Randolph quarterback Sam Whitley to seal East Bladen's 33-27 overtime victory in the second round of the state 2-A playoffs.
The Eagles (9-3) will host fellow Waccamaw Conference rival South Columbus, whom they beat 28-6 in the regular season, in the third round.
Southern Guilford 35, Overhills 14 - In High Point, Malik Moseley ran over the Jaguars with 268 yards and four touchdowns.
Danny Karrs passed for 159 yards and a touchdown, and Quentin Ridley scored from 2 yards out as Overhills' run ended in the second round of state 3-AA playoffs.
Reidsville 50, St. Pauls 18 - In Reidsville, Jayron Rankin ran for three of the Rams' seven touchdowns in a strong display of offense.
St. Pauls' Kane Banner passed for 214 yards in the losing effort.
South Columbus 21, South Granville 15 - In Tabor City, the Stallions built a 21-6 lead, then hung on for a second-round 2-A playoff win. N.C. State recruit Pharoah McKever threw a pair of touchdowns for South Columbus, which will visit East Bladen - one of only two teams to which it has lost this season - in the third round.
