Ken McDowell's 264-yard rushing night included five touchdowns as the Bears prepared for next week's nonconference opener at Douglas Byrd with a 62-31 win over Cape Fear on Friday night.

Dion Rackley added 162 rushing yards and Joe Wallace chipped in with another 154. Cape Fear's Spencer Faircloth threw for 306 yards, and Cole Humphrey made 14 catches for 123 yards.

Richmond Senior 41, South View 7 - In Rockingham, Dakwa Nichols rushed for 211 yards and a 58-yard touchdown as the Raiders improved to 4-0. South View (0-4) led 7-0 after one quarter on a 2-yard run by Troy Cain.

Terry Sanford 24, Raleigh Broughton 21 - In Raleigh, Peter Court kicked a 37-yard field goal with 1:30 remaining to seal the win.

Overhills 58, Harnett Central 0 - In Lillington, Lawrence Bullock rushed for 153 yards and three scores as the Jaguars blanked Harnett Central - their first win in the series in eight years.

East Bladen 33, Clinton 28 - In Clinton, three second-quarter touchdowns helped the Eagles snap the Dark Horses' two-game winning streak. Jaylan Herring and Rasheen Keith combined for 301 rushing yards in the victory, while Clinton's Silas Herring and Demontio Bryant each rushed for more than 100 yards.

Village Christian 42, Kestrel Heights 12 - Billy White rushed for 234 yards and four touchdowns on 16 carries as Village, winless for more than three years of varsity football, won its second straight.

Southern Lee 30, South Robeson 24 - In Rowland, the Cavaliers got their first win of the season behind Aaron Blockman's 137 rushing yards.

Lake View (S.C.) 28, Fairmont 20 - In Fairmont, the Wild Gators got balanced production to win the interstate rivalry.

Triton 49, Western Harnett 30 - In Lillington, Dedrick Stacker ran for five of the Hawks' six scores and piled up 244 rushing yards on 13 carries.

Harrells Christian 56, Cannon 14 - In Harrells, Russell Washington and Channing Kelly combined for 413 rushing yards in the Crusaders' rout.

Hoke County 49, Raleigh Sanderson 7 - In Raeford, Detrez Newsome piled up more than 300 all-purpose yards and scored five times for the Bucks.

Lumberton 42, Seventy-First 26 - In Lumberton, Daniel Robinson's 216 rushing yards and four touchdowns were enough for the Pirates (3-1) to keep Seventy-First winless. The Falcons got 126 rushing yards from Brandon Fife and 109 from Paul Underwood.

Pfafftown Reagan 28, Pinecrest 20 - In Southern Pines, Pinecrest's Jackson Maples kicked a 60-yard field goal - 1 yard shy of the state record - but the Raiders scored the final three touchdowns to take the win.

Union 21, Jones Senior 7 - In Clinton, Daniel Glover scored a pair of touchdowns as the Spartans picked up their first win of the season.

Red Springs 54, North Moore 0 - In Red Springs, Blake Greene was 14-for-19 passing for 291 yards - 167 of them to Julian Brown - in the Red Devils' blowout of the winless Mustangs.

Lee County 37, Fuquay-Varina 14 - In Sanford, James Foushee scored three second-half touchdowns to spark the Yellow Jackets to a Tri-9 4-A Conference win.

New Hanover 56, Purnell Swett 19 - In Wilmington, the Wildcats jumped out to a 49-13 halftime lead and improved to 4-0.

St. Pauls 76, West Bladen 45 - In St. Pauls, Shawn Williams rushed for 209 yards and Kane Banner passed for 147 as the Bulldogs (3-1) won a shootout with the winless Knights.

East Columbus 28, Whiteville 8 - In Lake Waccamaw, Robert Smith's 80-yard punt return highlighted the Wolfpack's loss.

Midway 34, Southside 21 - In Chocowinity, the Raiders rushed for 322 yards and passed for 167 to improve to 3-1.
