Spencer Faircloth

Sport: Baseball
Year: Junior
Notable: Faircloth struck out nine, including all three batters in the seventh inning, and recorded a key double play in the sixth inning to lead the Colts to a 2-1 first-round state 4-A baseball playoff win over Clayton.
Ken Vandenbark
School: Gray's Creek
Sport: Baseball
Year: Junior
Notable: Vandenbark was 3-for-6 with two doubles and a pair of RBIs as Gray's Creek won its first-ever 3-A baseball playoff game last week against Northern Vance.
Trey Guy
School: Terry Sanford
Sport: Golf
Year: Junior
Notable: Guy, the Mid-South Conference player of the year, shot 68 in the 4-A Eastern Regional tournament for a second-place overall finish last week.
Frank Quarles
School: Douglas Byrd
Sport: Track and field
Year: Junior
Notable: Quarles won the long jump and the 200 meters in the 3-A regional track meet at Reid Ross Classical School last week. He also anchored Byrd's win in the 4x400 relay and placed second in the 400 meters.
Taylor Powell

Sport: Softball
Year: Sophomore
Notable: Powell was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in South View's first-round state 4-A playoff win over Green Hope last week.
Markell Wylie
School: Jack Britt
Sport: Softball
Year: Senior
Notable: Wylie was 2-for-3 in Jack Britt's first round state playoff win over Knightdale.
