Carver Classic track meet will be held this weekend
The rescheduled Carver Classic track and field meet will be held Saturday at John Daskal Stadium at Reid Ross Classical School on Ramsey Street.
The event was scheduled earlier this month but was postponed by rain.
Leon Mack, student activities director for the Cumberland County Schools, said because of scheduling conflicts involving many of the schools that originally signed up for the meet, a greatly reduced field of roughly eight to 10 schools is expected to take part.
Running and field event preliminaries will begin Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
Admission to the meet is $3 per person.
