OFFENSE

Terry Sanford

We're two games into the season and it's pretty clear the Bulldogs are fast becoming a one-dimensional team. Quarterback Dante McDonald and running back Anthony Hobbs are providing nearly all of the yardage for Terry Sanford, and all of it is coming on the ground. Good defenses are going to find a way to cope with that as the weeks go by.

Gray's Creek

The Bears turned in a really sloppy performance in their loss to South View last week with numerous procedure penalties and costly turnovers. They appear to have the potential for offensive versatility, but they badly need to get some of the kinks worked out first.

Edge: Gray's Creek

DEFENSE

Terry Sanford

Terry Sanford will be playing its second game with middle linebacker Nick Broussard out of the lineup, still sidelined for being ejected for fighting in the Bulldogs' opener. His absence was definitely felt last week when Junior Williams and Douglas Byrd rolled through the Bulldogs. Terry Sanford will need to shore up some more tonight for Gray's Creek's ground attack.

Gray's Creek

The Bears were hurt more by their own offense's lapses than by anything they did wrong last week against South View. The Tigers never really mounted any long drives and scored only on special teams and Gray's Creek turnovers. Maybe tonight we'll see how the Bears do if the offense doesn't give the other team easy scoring chances.

Edge: Gray's Creek

X-FACTOR

Terry Sanford

I'm sure the Bulldogs would like to prove they can win with Broussard on the sidelines, something they didn't do last week. Maybe with two weeks of working without him they'll have things figured out.

Gray's Creek

The Bears are stinging from their loss to South View last week, and would love nothing more than to boost their confidence with a win over Terry Sanford. This is also the home opener for the Bears, so that adds some extra motivation.

Edge: Gray's Creek

Earl Vaughan's Pick: Gray's Creek 21, Terry Sanford 20.
