Six Fayetteville Academy athletes sign with schools

Six Fayetteville Academy athletes will be continuing their careers at the college level next fall, including four All-Cape Fear region selections.
Gloria Douglas, the 2009 and 2010 Cape Fear region girls' soccer player of the year, has signed to play at the University of Virginia. Douglas accumulated 45 goals and 15 assists as a senior.
All-region midfielder Joi Chrishon, who had 17 goals and 16 assists as a senior, is headed to NCAA Division II Pfeiffer.
Jack Ward, an all-region boys' soccer player who had 26 goals last season, has signed to play at UNC-Wilmington.
The U.S. Naval Academy is where baseball player Josh Elmore will continue his career. Elmore hit .375 as a senior and posted an 8-2 record pitching to earn all-region honors.
Basketball forward Charles Smith, who averaged 18 points a game as a senior and earned all-league honors, will be playing at NCAA Division III Emory & Henry.
Marko Zjacic, a 10-point scorer for the basketball squad last year, will play for Itawamba Community College.
