Rain washes out Cape Fear/Wilmington Ashley softball game

Monday's rain has forced postponement of Cape Fear's third-round state 4-A playoff game with Wilmington Ashley originally scheduled today.

The game has been moved to Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Cape Fear.

Cape Fear is 22-3, Ashley 13-8.

The winner of that game will advance to a fourth-round meeting with the winner of Harnett Central and Wilmington Laney. That game will be played Friday either at Harnett Central or at Laney.

Harnett Central is 20-5, Laney 19-5.
